Dandelion Fields

This car seat blanket is for a boy, right? :) I used green polka dot fabric on the handles because I'm guessing the white minky will attract dirt. (How sad is the grass in my back yard?!)

Gingham & Flowers

One of my favorite "pink alternatives" for little girls is purple. This particular car seat blanket might be my favorite that I've made. It took making a few to realize that having the handle closure under the car seat handle bar was pretty much genius.

Amy Butler for Boys?

Amy Butler fabrics are ALL darling! I chose this floral print for my cousin Miranda who is due to move to Utah from Hawaii. Is it too girly? We don't know the sex of the baby quite yet . . .

Monday's Child

Hey, look! A girlie car seat blanket that isn't pink! I struggle with the embellishment on the handle idea and I thought the gathered ric-rac trim was the perfect solution. (I don't want flowers and a lot of extra stuff that could fall off and make the handles look unfinished.)

Blue Paisley

I absolutely fell in love with this fabric, then found a soft, almost minky blue fabric for the backing. It turned out so darling!

Green and Blue Floral with Green Minky Dots

The car seat I used for my daughter is purple. Lovely, but it doesn't quite work as well for my now 8 week-old son. So, when I saw these car seat blankets I was in love. It covers the outside of the car seat and doesn't let anyone know what the original color scheme is - unless you look inside. Plus I have an insert that covers the purple on the inside as well (more to come on those later).

When I thought about what fabric I wanted to do for my son, I realized that doing one with the minky fabric on the inside layer would make for a darling (and exceptionally dark) cover for his car seat.

I also enjoyed doing a different stitch on the edge for his.

Green with Pink Paisley

A friend of mine asked me to make her a car seat drape for her baby girl and I was so excited to make a girlie one that I had it done quickly. So quickly that I was almost embarrassed to call and tell her I was bringing it over. (There isn't a baby in the car seat pictured - no need to worry about the frost on the grass...)
